The Centre also has years of expertise in the growth of oxide and AIIIBV compound semiconductor single crystals and their applications. And these fields will be developed as well, leading to further applications and commercialization. We look for disruptive new ideas also, which will lead our materials to a new level.
ENSEMBLE³ is a place fostering innovation in terms of providing infrastructure and know-how for both young and advanced researchers with pioneering ideas.
ENSEMBLE³ gathers the expertise, know-how, and facilities in the field of crystal growth, and advanced materials for photonics/optoelectronics, including plasmonics and metamaterials. We work on the development of novel crystal-growth based materials technologies and advanced materials with unique electromagnetic properties, which can find application in various fields such as photonics, optoelectronics, telecommunication, solar energy conversion, medicine, aerospace, and others. Within the International Research Agenda Programme, in a nutshell, our research is about utilizing crystal growth methods to manufacture novel photonic materials (metamaterials, plasmonic materials, and other materials with unique optical/electromagnetic properties). This includes using the eutectic self-organization mechanism for that, developing novel methods for manufacturing bulk nanoplasmonic active and passive materials with various embedded nanoparticles.
