Oxide Single Crystals

The Oxide Crystals group led by prof. Oleg Sidletskiy provides synthesis and characterization of novel oxide materials for scintillation and/or laser applications, and develops innovative growth technologies to reduce crystal production cost and to facilitate technology transfer into industry.

Following the ENSEMBLE³  priorities, Oxide crystal group is focused on 2 areas:

  • Innovative crystal growth technologies to reduce production cost;
  • Novel oxide materials with enhanced performance.
  • Rare-earth oxide crystals for Faraday rotator application
  • Scintillator crystals for medical applications
  • Exploration of functional spintronics materials
  • Advancement in piezoelectric materials

The project "Heterostructures for ultrafast scintillation detectors" conducted with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan received the awarded amount of PLN 1,986,470 from NCN OPUS24 competition for 3 years.

This project is dedicated to development and characterization of heterostructure scintillation materials for new generation of Time-Of-Flight positron emission tomographs.
