This group will be responsible for broadening the field of applications of materials, engineered in the Centre, towards the biological systems. We have already demonstrated various properties and functionalities exhibited by our materials, from the laser sources for medical applications to the use of Whispering Gallery Mode resonators. These could be developed more into applications, in addition to anticipated new ideas from the group leader and group members.
