In the last days of November, we had the pleasure of hosting eighth grade students from two Warsaw elementary schools in our laboratories: the Mariusz Zaruski School No. 53 and the Ludwika Wawrzynska School No. 139.
The visit to the laboratories of ENSEMBLE³'s Centre of Excellence and the meeting with our researchers took place within the framework of information tours organised under the motto 'Reach for More'. It is organised by the Education Office of Warsaw City Hall in cooperation with the University of Warsaw and the National Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications. The aim of the project is to help young people from Warsaw elementary school choose their future career paths by visiting inspiring workplaces and giving them the opportunity to experience new technologies in practise.
The students met with leading scientists from the Centre of Excellence, who talked about methods for crystallising materials that are then used in the photonics industry, telecommunications, electronics, medicine or aeronautics.
The guests also had the opportunity to visit two laboratories. The first, the Jan Czochralski laboratory, researches the extraction of crystals for use in laser technology and the production of new crystalline materials for optoelectronics. The second is the AIIIBV Materials Crystallisation Laboratory, where work is underway to improve methods for obtaining single crystals from semiconductor compounds.
We hope that the meeting has aroused the interest of our guests and will inspire them in their future educational and professional choices.
