Polish scientists will receive a total of almost PLN 520 million for the implementation of research projects in the field of basic sciences. In the OPUS24 and SONATA18 competitions, decided yesterday by the National Science Center, a total of 3,015 applications were submitted, of which 363 qualified for funding.
We are particularly proud that scientists from ENSEMBLE³ are among them.
Professor Oleg Sidletsky, Ph.D., the head of the Oxide Single Crystals Group, has received a grant under the OPUS24 competition for a project on heterostructures for ultrafast scintillation detectors for use in medicine and high-energy physics. The amount of funding is PLN 1,986,470.00.

Among the winning proposals of the SONATA18 competition is also a project authored by Dr. Jakub Ostapko from the Next-Generation Energy Systems Group. The awarded amount is PLN 1,899,101.00. The aim of the project is to obtain and characterize crystalline organic porous polymers upconverting light energy.
