ENSEMBLE³ Centre of Excellence at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2022

11 May 2022

Over 900 exhibitors from 30 countries and more than 15,000 trade fair visitors - this is how one of the largest industry trade fair LASER World of PHOTONICS 2022, which took place in Munich in the last days of April, can be summarised in numbers.

This prestigious event presents the latest solutions for the laser and international photonics industry, including innovative research results. The oxide and semiconductor crystals presented by a team of researchers from the ENSEMBLE³ Centre of Excellence attracted great interest from visitors, especially from representatives of companies that manufacture femtosecond lasers and YAG lasers for a wide range of applications, including medicine, cosmetics and Industry 4.0.

"During the show, we made valuable contacts with leading manufacturers of laser devices and other optical components and hope to collaborate on the development of materials for laser and photonics applications," said Emil Tymicki, Ph.D., team leader of the Functional Materials Laboratory of the ENSEMBLE³ Centre of Excellence. The solutions presented by ENSEMBLE³ Centre of Excellence researchers are the result of the International Research Agendas programme of the Foundation for Polish Science co- financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund. The presentation took place at the "Poland" booth organised by the Polish Photonics  Technology Platform (PPTF). Polish photonics was also represented by researchers and exhibitors from IMiF-Łukasiewicz, Warsaw University of Technology and innovative companies such as VIGO Photonics and TopGaN.
