We are very happy to have had the opportunity to participate in the Directionally Solidified Eutectics Conference (DSEC), held in Istanbul, Turkey from May 25 to May 27, 2023.
DSEC is a renowned gathering of leading scientists ๐ฌ dedicated to exploring various aspects of eutectic systems, including thermodynamic assessments, solidification experiments and models, novel processing strategies, and physical properties.
During the conference, our center's scientists delivered insightful lectures and presented their research during poster sessions. Here is a summary of their contributions:
Lectures:
โ Prof. Dorota A. Pawlak discussed the potential of novel photonic materials enabled by crystal growth.
โ Dr. Monika Tomczyk presented on Europium-doped eutectic composite of ZnO embedded in the ZnWO4 matrix.
โ Dr. Katarzyna Sadecka focused on the fabrication and characterization of AIIIBV eutectic material growth by the Bridgman method.
โ Prof. Andryi Gusak shared his research on models of eutectic crystallization and melting in sharp concentration gradients.
โ Prof. Serhii Lakyza explored the description of eutectic microstructures, emphasizing correctness and potential mistakes.
โ Dr. Kingshuk Bandopadhyay introduced a novel approach to topological insulator lamellar heterostructures through eutectic solidification.
โ Paweล Polak discussed the application of NiTiO3/TiO2 hybrid crystals for efficient energy storage.
Poster sessions:
๐ Anastasiia Titova presented her work on atomistic simulation of directional two-phase solidification from liquid and vapor.
๐ Krzysztof Markus focused on topological insulator eutectic heterostructures.
๐ Dr. Kingshuk Bandopadhyay showcased unique black Titanium Oxide eutectics as a novel optoelectronic material.
๐ Yaroslav Korol shared insights into two-step solid-phase synthesis of eutectic structures in multilayer AI/a-Si Systems.
๐ Dr. Katarzyna Sadecka presented research on revolutionizing vibrational nanoscopy using photonic nanojets for chemical and phase mapping of eutectic metamaterials.
๐ Dr. Hamid Reza Darabian discussed the applications of eutectic materials for 5G technology.
๐ Katarzyna Kolodziejak highlighted stability measurements of SrTiO3-TiO2 photanodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting.
