The Czochralski pullers for oxide single crystal growth with melting temperatures up to 2100°C, made by Cyberstar are located at DFM-ITME. The Czochralski technique (CZ) using iridium or platinum crucibles and radiofrequency heating is the most adaptable and widely-used crystal growth method. The inductive heating system proposed by Cyberstar is of very high quality. Both apparatuses allow control of the seed puller rod (rotation and translation) and crucible (rotation and translation) with high accuracy. Both apparatuses are equipped with weighing devices which allow control of the rate of increase of crystal mass (accuracy/resolution 10mg). When big pieces of composites or single crystals of oxides are required, this equipment will be used.
