The four Mirror Furnace is a floating-zone (crucible-free) furnace for melting of extremely high temperature materials (up to 3000°C). The system is equipped with 4 air-cooled xenon lamps (3kW each) and water-cooled quartz tube. Pulling rates from 0.01 mm/hour to 150 mm/minute are possible. Crystal composite rods up to 1 cm in diam. can be obtained.
