On Tuesday, December 13, for the umpteenth time, eighth grade students from Warsaw elementary schools visited our labs. This time we hosted students and teachers from Powstańców Wielkopolskich School No. 263 and Eliza Orzeszkowa School No. 277.
As in the previous visit, the students had the opportunity to meet with leading scientists of the Center of Excellence, who talked about methods of crystallization of materials, which are then used in the photonics industry, telecommunications, electronics, medicine or aviation. Part of the tour included a visit to the Jan Czochralski Laboratory, where research is being conducted on the extraction of crystals for use in laser technology and the production of new crystalline materials for optoelectronics.
The meeting took place within the framework of introductory visits organized under the motto "Reach for more". The organizers of this project are the Education Office of Warsaw City Hall in cooperation with the University of Warsaw and the National Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications. The aim of the project is to help young people from Warsaw elementary school choose their future career paths by visiting inspiring workplaces and giving them the opportunity to experience new technologies in practice.
We hope that the meeting once again aroused the curiosity of our guests and inspired them in their future educational and professional decisions.
